RT Crossing

As nighttime falls, coyotes call
And we turn in the drive.
Through fog-filled windows starlight shines
To greet us up the way.
The shoes come off, the children mob
And she walks in -
All legs, and hair, and laughter.

Some concert footage on TV
And melodies from toys.
Zoo creatures strewn across the floor.
Kids clamor for our smiles.
Wafting sounds and smells of dinner.
And she walks in -
All legs, and hair, and laughter.

Pink, fuzzy slippers warm my feet
And wine turns in the glass.
Kole's toy dog snuffles in my ear.
The children off to bed.
We think of quotes and repeat jokes.
And she walks in -
All legs, and hair, and laughter.

To sit. To talk. And to relate.
